Trout Creek Academy

We are proud to offer a convenient, on-site program at Trout Creek Academy for extended care that works for your family’s busy schedule. Children enjoy a fun and balanced routine, with time set aside for homework, exercise, play, arts and crafts, special activities, and much more—all in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our Programs

Before School

Before school begins, children thrive in a quiet, less structured environment. From 6:30 am to 7:25 am each school day, we provide children an opportunity to relax, play or read quietly, and connect with friends in our Morning Extended Day program.

After School

In our Afternoon Extended Day program, children embark on a variety of stimulating adventures from dismissal until 6:00 pm. Many kids feel like they’re attending a fun summer camp all year long with a schedule that includes homework time, outside play, indoor games, STEM skill development, arts and crafts.

COVID-19 Guidelines

At Village Extended Day Services, we value the safety of all of our families and staff. We have implemented a number of safety measures based on CDC and St Johns County School district recommendations to ensure the continued health of everyone involved in our programs.

– Temperature checks will be done if children or staff display symptoms
– Students and counselors will be with the same cohort each day
– Cohorts will have designated areas for use to limit cross exposure
– Students have the option to wear masks while inside
– Staff have the option to wear masks and face shields while inside
– Social-distancing friendly daily activities
– Sanitizing all materials after each use with safe products

Dear Picolata Crossing Families,

I would like to warmly welcome you and hope you are looking forward to this opportunity for your children beginning in the 2022-23 school year. I am delighted that you will be a part of the Village Extended Day Before and After School Program at Picolata Crossing Elementary School.

My name is Latifa Almabrouk, and I am the Program Director of the Extended Day program. Here’s a little about me. I am a military spouse, and I have a son who attends middle school in Ponte Vedra. Before becoming a part of the education field, I was in the medical field for 8 years as a Cardiovascular Technologist focusing on intraoperative procedures.

I decided to try something different that would allow me to spend more time with my son. So, I volunteered at my son’s elementary school in Virginia, and I quickly decided I wanted to help children who were having a difficult time reading. I spent some time as an elementary reading Paraprofessional until it was time to relocate. We are a military family, and we have decided to make St. Johns County our final home destination. I have been a part of Village Extended Day Services for more than two years, starting as a counselor and then becoming a Director in July 2019. I have my Child Development Associates Certification (CDA) through the State of Florida and also have my Florida Department of Children and Families Director Credential.

This next year promises to be full of exciting new opportunities for fun, growth and endless learning experiences for your child.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My contact information is listed below.
